John Terry posts snap of him mulling over next career move by pool on holiday in Portugal

JOHN TERRY has posted a snap of him mulling over his next career move by the pool on holiday in Portugal.

The former Chelsea defender is taking a break as he searches for a new club, having admitted over the weekend it is “too difficult” to think about playing for another club.

It was revealed earlier this year that Terry had turned down huge offers from three clubs in the MLS.

It rests on him whether the one-club man finds another team, be it in the Premier League, abroad – or he may just give up playing altogether.

And where better to mull things over than a gorgeous poolside in Portugal, a holiday destination he visits frequently with his family.

His caption on Instagram read: “Good morning. It’s so good to be back in Portugal,” as he posed with his back to camera with a bottle of water, legs dangling in the pool.

The caption was tellingly written in Portuguese, a language he has been learning with some Instagram posts this year with coaching manuals in the foreign tongue.

The 36-year-old Chelsea skipper bid an emotional farewell to the club last week was an unused substitute in Saturday’s FA Cup final defeat by Arsenal, his final outing.

And at the club’s end of season awards in Battersea on Sunday night, the man who has spent 22 years at the west Londoners, left a heartfelt message.

He said: “I’m finding it hard to even consider playing for another club at the moment, but that’s the desire of why I’m leaving so we’ll see what happens, and see what the future brings.

"Chelsea's my life and it has been for 22 years and it'll never go away.

"The fans mean everything to me, the memories will live with me forever. Thank you for always being there for me. I couldn't be here without you and I thank you from my heart.

"I hope to be back here in the future. The club have made it clear that the door is always open. I'm going to go away for a week and decide my future, whether that's playing or finishing."
