DERBY striker Johnny Russell was denied a summer move to Brighton, Sun Sport understands.
Russell moved to the East Midlands from Dundee Utd in 2013 for £650,000 and has featured in all the Rams Championship games so far this season under new boss Nigel Pearson.

The Rams rejected a £4.5m deadline day bid from promotion rivals Brighton for the Scotland International who has lees than two years remaining on his current deal.
