Jurgen Klinsmann in talks to be next England manager reveals Germany supremo Oliver Bierhoff – and rates him a perfect fit


JURGEN KLINSMANN is in talks for the England job, his ex-boss has revealed.

German general manager Oliver Bierhoff says Klin, who began his country’s return to greatness, has spoken to FA bigwigs.

Bierhoff said: “I think he is in discussion with England. He would be a good fit. When Klinsmann became Germany coach, we gave the national team a certain pride, atmosphere and organisation.

“We started in 2004 together and he’s not always nice to handle because he wants change.

“He has the courage to make difficult decisions.”

Germany have never failed to reach the semi-finals of a major tournament since Klin, 51, began his two-year reign in 2004.

The FA are looking for a new boss after Roy Hodgson quit following the shambles of Euro 2016.

Klin, currently USA coach, offered the FA encouragement by praising the  English game.

He said: “They already have their infrastructure, scouting, coaches’ education, national training centre. It’s all there.”
