Juventus star Alex Sandro set to snub Chelsea’s January approaches and sign new deal until 2022
Juventus edge closer to pinning down in-demand defender Alex Sandro with a new five-year mega-money contract.
The Brazilian was heavily linked with a summer switch to Chelsea, but the Italian giants refused to negotiate.
The Serie A giants are willing to hand the 26-year-old a new bumper deal to secure his services until 2022, according to SportMediaset.
It was also reported that the Juventus ace was not tempted by a move abroad, despite a flurry of bids from the Premier League champions.
Blues boss Antonio Conte was rumoured to be willing to fork out £73million for the defender this summer in a bid to bolster his back line, but the Bianconeri refused to do business.
As part of the new contract, Sandro will reportedly see his annual salary increase from £2.6million to £4.1million.
This vast wage increase will put the 26-year-old in the same wage bracket as some of the club’s biggest names – including Sami Khedira, Miralem Pjanic and Gianluigi Buffon.
Sandro shot to prominence during his two-year spell with the Italian outfit, which attracted an array of interest during the transfer window.
