Kyle Edmund pulls off second round win over Marton Fucsovics despite finger injury
KYLE EDMUND pulled his finger out to move into the third round of the French Open.
Edmund seemed to be in trouble when he received treatment for a finger injury during the course of losing the second set to Hungary’s Marton Fucsovics.
But the British No 1 recovered his composure to fashion a 6-0, 1-6, 6-2, 6-3 victory.
Edmund took charge from the off against a nervous-looking opponent and served him a “bagel” in just 27 minutes.
But alarm bells were ringing when former junior Wimbledon champion Fucsovics claimed a one-sided second set.
The Brit got back in track in the third set, racing into a 3-0 lead.

“I had a paper cut that was slightly splitting as I was playing, so wanted to cover it.”
