LAMIN DEEN is hoping to salvage a shock medal for Britain in the four-man bobsleigh as Team GB struggle to meet their target.
The Brits were charged with winning a minimum of five medals and have managed only one gold and three bronzes.
Deen, a 36-year-old Grenadier Guard who has served in Kosovo and Northern Ireland, has not been in great form in practice this week but did make one podium finish in the World Cup this season.
He said: “When you are going at that speed, once you get halfway down the track, the rest is a blur, it’s just muscle memory.
“Imagine sticking your head out of the car going at 99mph on a motorway, that’s what it’s like.three
“You’ve got to rely on your visualisation. You should do it at least ten times before you go off.

“When you do get to the point where you cannot react to what you see, you are just a passenger and your hands just do it for you and you’ve got to trust in your sled as well.”
The competition begins with two runs in the early hours of Saturday morning and concludes on Sunday.
