LEICESTER CITY’S record signing Islam Slimani is wanted on a season-long loan by former club Sporting Lisbon, A Bola reports.
Slimani signed for the then-Premier League champions for £30million on deadline day in August 2016 but has scored just 13 goals since arriving in England.
The Algerian frontman was shipped out to Newcastle on loan in January but played just 130 minutes.
He was then slapped with a three-game suspension which ended his season after a clash with West Brom’s Craig Dawson.
Slimani scored 28 goals for Sporting in the 2015/16 season before joining the Foxes as they prepared for their first Champions League campaign.
He scored twice on his Premier League debut in a 3-0 home win over Burnley and scored the only goal as Leicester beat Porto as they topped Group G.

With international team-mate Riyad Mahrez likely to be leaving the King Power Stadium this summer, Slimani may also be seeking an escape route to resurrect his career.
He hits 30 next month and will be hoping to improve on his five-goal return this campaign, four of which came in the Carabao Cup.
With Ricardo Pereira already signed, Claude Puel is eyeing further recruits as he looks to overhaul his squad.
West Brom centre-backs Jonny Evans and Ahmed Hegazi have both been reported targets, as well as Barcelona’s Brazilian defender Marlon.
