Leicester players forced to paint flashy fleet of BMW i8 cars gifted to them by Foxes owners as they cannot tell which car is theirs

CHAMPIONS Leicester were left feeling blue after being handed identical motors – so seven of the squad have opted for a quick colour change.

Owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha gave the team a £105,000 royal blue BMW i8 each to celebrate their historic title win.

But the players have been struggling to identify which car was theirs in the training ground car park after been given the flashy motors last month.

So seven of the side – including skipper Wes Morgan, Danny Simpson, Jeffrey Schlupp and Riyad Mahrez – have all opted to have theirs covered with a different colour wrap.

A source said: “The cars were a lovely gesture but there were 19 of them and it was causing a headache at training because everyone wanted to drive the new car.

“Now several of the lads have had wraps so at least some of the motors are different to the rest of the pack of Beemers in the car park.”

And they turned to former West Ham United and Newcastle star Marlon Harewood, who runs high end motor firm and body shop AC13 Premier with his partner Andrew Cole in Nottingham, to handle the £2,000 colour switches.

The former Premier League star uploaded a snap of Ghana star Schlupp taking delivery of his newly-wrapped motor and shots of several of the cars in his firm’s car park.

And he shared a photograph of a line-up of BMW keys with the words: “2 down 5 to go #i8”.
