And it appears they may also bag Euro 2016-winning ace Adrien – who was linked with a move to Tottenham earlier this summer – after he confirmed in an interview that he was set for a switch to the King Power.

The 13-cap midfielder told O Jogo: “Yes, I confirm this proposal. Leicester is very interesting and corresponds to my career goals.

“After the past 15 years at Sporting, this opportunity is something exceptional for me and can allow me to express and impose myself in another championship, and also to evolve in the Premier League, which is a stunning league.

“I love Sporting as a family and I dedicated myself to the club since I was 12 years old.

“With Sporting I lived many moments of happiness. I can say that I grew up with the club.

"At 27 years old, and after so many years of loyalty, I think that no one will criticise me for wanting to embrace this challenge."

Slimani appears to be on his way to the Prem champions as well after leaving the pitch in tears following a 2-1 win over Porto last night.

Boss Claudio Ranieri wants another striker to add firepower for their Champions League campaign - but the Foxes have so far refused to meet his mega £35million valuation.

He netted 27 goals last season as Sporting finished runners-up to Lisbon rivals Benfica in the Portuguese title race.
