Lewis Hamilton snubs F1 Live London: Why is EVERY Formula One driver at the event except the three-time world champ?

FORMULA ONE is set to come to London, but Lewis Hamilton will not be attending.

The British three-time world champion will be the only driver not on view in the capital.

And here is why he has opted out of the event.

Why isn’t Lewis Hamilton attending F1 Live London?

Hamilton has announced that he will take a two-day break ahead of the British Grand Prix.

After finishing below Sebastian Vettel again in Austria, the Mercedes driver is likely determined to re-focus ahead of the big race at Silverstone.

Hamilton is now 20 points behind his rival and tweeted to his fans, saying: “To my loving fans, I can’t wait to see you in Silverstone. Until then, I’m away on a two-day break. God Bless you all. Love, Lewis.”

And Vettel will no doubt relish the opportunity to pick up a few fans on enemy territory as he drives his Ferrari along Whitehall.

Which F1 drivers will be attending?

In a nutshell, everybody except Hamilton.

F1 owners Liberty Media had a subtle dig at the Brit in their statement, saying: “We invited teams and drivers to join us at F1 Live London and we had a fantastic response from all the teams and 19 of the drivers.

“Today will be a great day for London’s Formula One fans, seeing race cars and drivers close-up, sharing the passion for F1 ahead of the British Grand Prix.”

Hamilton will be replaced at the event by retired former teammate and current world champ Nico Rosberg.

What time does the event start?

The event will be formed of two parts – an F1 Schools and Innovation Showcase from 12pm to 4pm and the F1 Live London Show and Parade from 5.30pm to 9pm.

Show cars will line up outside the National Gallery while others will speed from Whitehall to Trafalgar Square and back again.
