Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says he ‘cannot guarantee he won’t scream at officials again’ after annoying Jose Mourinho


JURGEN KLOPP has admitted: “I cannot guarantee I won’t scream at an official again.”

The Liverpool boss bellowed in the face of fourth official Neil Swarbrick after Chelsea missed a controversial late penalty in Tuesday’s 1-1 draw at Anfield.

Klopp, who shouted “no one can beat us”, escaped punishment after swiftly saying sorry and admitting he was totally in the wrong.

It led to rival Jose Mourinho taking a swipe because he was told to calm down or be sent to the stands, as he lost his cool in Manchester United’s midweek draw with Hull.

Although Klopp knows he was fortunate, he is equally convinced the same could happen again at any stage this season.

He said: “To know about it doesn’t change the moment. That is why we accept the fines to say never will we do anything like the last game.

“I can say 100 per cent I won’t do it but it’d be a lie to give a guarantee.”

Klopp knows he has Swarbrick to thank, after the official accepted his apology and told him, “I like your passion.”

Ahead of tomorrow’s visit to Hull, the Kop boss added: “I was really lucky in the way the fourth official reacted and I hope he didn’t get in trouble because of how he reacted.

“That was a reaction from a human being and as a result I may not have finished the game on the touchline.”

Klopp, one of the most animated bosses in the Prem, has been slammed for setting a bad example.

But he said: “Behind a manager is a human being and we are all weak in parts.

“Sometimes you feel it in a moment and say things like, ‘Nobody can beat us.’

“I never heard a more silly sentence in our situation after three defeats!”
