Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp screamed ‘No one can beat us’ at official after Simon Mignolet saved Chelsea striker Diego Costa’s penalty

JURGEN KLOPP lost the plot with fourth official Neil Swarbrick — but the two ended all smiles at the end.

The Liverpool boss screamed, “No one can beat us” in Swarbrick’s face, after Simon Mignolet denied Diego Costa a late penalty winner.

It came after Joel Matip had tripped the Chelsea striker.

Incredibly Klopp claimed he had no real problem with ref Mark Clattenburg’s spot-kick decision.

Yet he did admit his reaction was over the top and immediately apologised. Klopp revealed: “I said to him, ‘No one can beat us’, that’s what I said.

“Obviously that’s not true — but it felt for us like this in that moment.

“I was absolutely the wrong person to say it and I said, ‘Sorry, I was a bit excited’. He said, ‘No problem, I like your passion’.”

Klopp’s apology and Swarbrick’s swift willingness to accept it, defused the situation.

That will almost certainly see the Kop boss escape any punishment.

Meanwhile, Antonio Conte saw his title leaders run nine points clear.

The Italian taunted his rivals: “The best thing is to see ourselves, not the others. We stay top and that is a great achievement. But it is important to focus on ourselves.

“Today you saw another team if you compare Chelsea in their first game at home when we lost 2-1. There is a great difference. Now there is a team with great organisation, experience and talent.

“If you put all this together it’s very important. Now we are a team.

“We’ve totally changed our situation. There are 15 games remaining and 45 points. It’s important to try to increase our points and not look at the others — it’s important to look at ourselves.”
