Liverpool ‘in race with Napoli for Sampdoria ace Lucas Torreira’ as Jurgen Klopp looks to strengthen midfield options


LIVERPOOL are reportedly chasing Sampdoria star Lucas Torreira but face competition from Napoli.

Jurgen Klopp can already look forward to the arrival of Naby Keita from RB Leipzig to bolster his options.

But with Emre Can likely heading for Juventus, Gazzetta dello Sport claims in-form Torreira is also on Jurgen Klopp’s wish list.

Tough-tacking maestro Torreira earned his first Uruguay call-up this year and has been selected in his country’s provisional 26-man World Cup squad.

His value is likely to skyrocket if he makes the cut and has a good tournament, so the Reds may want to move quickly.

And Liverpool flop Suso has admitted he is desperate to have another shot at playing for the Reds.

“I would like to play for Liverpool again some day. I grew up there, and it is a big club.”
