LIVERPOOL will not be able to sign Nabil Fekir until after the World Cup, according to Lyon’s club president.
Jean-Michel Aulas has confirmed that the move is at a “standstill” as the French midfielder prepares for Russia.
The Ligue 1 side used their official Twitter page to send out the message to any clubs that are interested in the 24-year-old.
Along with a video, the post read: “The @NabilFekir folder will not close before or during @FIFAWorldCup.”
Speaking on Thursday, Lyon chief Aulas said: “The record is at a standstill, there is no way forward.
“The record will certainly not close during the Cup and I do not think there is any change before the World Cup.
“Not set a base price because we have not discussed this yet.”
Fekir’s agent Jean-Pierre Bernes admitted earlier this week that talks are continuing between the two clubs.

The French side are in no rush to offload the French midfielder, who bagged 18 league goals last season.
Lyon will be aware that the midfielder’s value could increase if he shines in Russia for Didier Deschamps’ side.
