Liverpool transfer news: Sevilla join Swansea in race to sign midfielder Joe Allen this summer in £10million deal
JOE ALLEN is the centre of a transfer tug-of-war after Sevilla joined Swansea in the hunt for the Liverpool star.
Swansea hope to re-sign the midfielder they sold to Liverpool for £15million in 2012 – but now they face competition for the Wales midfielder from Spain.
Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen has been a key player for Wales at Euro 2016
According to reports in Spain, Sevilla were highly impressed by what they saw from the Welshman during his substitute appearance against them in Liverpool’s Europa League final defeat.
The La Liga side want to land Allen and see him as a £10m as a replacement for Ever Banega, who has joined Serie A Inter on a free transfer.

Allen, 26, has just one year left on his Anfield contract and isn’t guaranteed a regular role in Jurgen Klopp’s team.
So the Reds are expected to try and cash in this summer or risk losing Allen for free in the summer of 2017.

Allen has been one of the best performers for Wales at Euro 2016
It seems that unless Allen wants to spend the prime years of his career as a bit-part player, moving on is probably the best option – especially with Marko Grujic arriving, and one or two more midfielders on Klopp’s radar.
Allen is actually playing the best football of his Anfield career, but he’s still regarded as a squad player at Anfield, and that is unlikely to change with increased competition in midfield.
