COCK-UP keeper Loris Karius was spotted making a quick getway on Sunday night just hours after arriving back in Liverpool from his Champions League heartache.
The German was seen being quickly ushered through security at Manchester Airport.
His destination was unknown but no doubt the 24-year-old was anxious to escape the hullabaloo surrounding his horrendous display in Saturday’s 3-1 loss to Real Madrid.
Karius’s place at Anfield is now in doubt as the Reds target a new goalkeeper following his two major blunders in Kiev.
Jurgen Klopp is already reported to be making a renewed attempt to prise Alisson from Roma.
Alisson, Liverpool’s opponent in the Champions League semi-final, remains Klopp’s favoured choice with the Brazilian scouted extensively throughout the season.
Jan Oblak of Atletico Madrid has also been linked with Anfield but Klopp was prepared to persist with Karius after his £4.7m signing from Mainz responded well to being confirmed Liverpool’s No 1 ahead of Mignolet.
That fact is, though, that for the best part of two years Klopp had been urged to sign a world-class No 1.
CAN’T KARI ON Liverpool ‘step up goalkeeper hunt’ with Alisson and Jan Oblak as main targets after Loris Karius’ Champions League flop
But he stuck with Simon Mignolet and then Karius as his first choice – and the club paid the ultimate penalty on Saturday.
Karius first underarmed the ball straight to Karim Benzema for Real’s first and let Gareth Bale’s long range drive squirm through his fingers.
Karius was inconsolable and apologised to Liverpool fans and team-mates for his two mistakes.
