AMERICAN Football has seen a meteoric rise in popularity in the UK over recent years – and with that, so has Madden.
The NFL is showcased at Wembley every year and Sky Sports are putting more and more games on TV each season.
With America’s Game on the rise this side of the pond, Madden 17 has had to up its game, and they’ve scored a touchdown.
This year’s instalment of the popular simulator is such an improvement on any other, even non-NFL fans will enjoy playing it.
There’s so much do it will be hard to get bored.
You can play as your favourite team in the new and improved Franchise mode, which this time around lets you delve even deeper into managing and playing.
Ultimate Team is as addictive, and expensive, as ever. (It’s truly frightening how much money I’ll let myself spend on player packs in that mode…)
And the training drills and skill modes are as fun, engaging and challenging as ever.

But it’s on the field where you see the best of Madden 17, in both beautiful graphics and stunning gameplay.
This is, by some margin, the best looking sports simulator I’ve ever seen. It’s realism is a real testament to developers EA.
Not only this, the game actually feels brutal, like a real American Football match.
You wince at every tackle, breath every lung-busting run, and pluck every catch from the sky.
One criticism of last year's Madden was how easy is was to score, and how difficult it was to defend.
Those worries have been rectified by some slight tweaks, which make corners and pass-rushers more intelligent.
They attack the ball and swat it away from receivers, taking interceptions, and making it hard to master even on basic difficulties.
EA have found the winning formula for Madden 17, let's hope they do the same with this year's FIFA...
