Manchester City are finally conkered as squirrel invades Etihad pitch – but the furry newcomer is saved from Wolves

MANCHESTER CITY have finally been conkered in their incredible start to the season.

Pep Guardiola predictably made many changes for their Carabao Cup tie against Wolves but no-one could have anticipated one particularly nutty character to step out at Etihad before kick-off.

Luckily, City’s groundstaff saved the squirming squirrel from Wolves – by somehow managing to scoop him up  and release away from the stadium.

But sadly three was less excitement on the pitch later – as Guardiola’s Premier League leaders toiled for long periods against the Championship top dogs.

Perhaps Guardiola needed Fur-nandinho in his line-up.
