PEP GUARDIOLA has backed Patrick Vieira for the Arsenal job.
The Manchester City boss insists Vieira is “ready” for the Premier League after starting at New York City.
Guardiola said: “Of course, he is ready. He is already a top manager.
“With what has happened there will be a lot of names there, Arsenal will take the best decision for them.
“But I think all the names will get mentioned and all of them are ready.”
City also own NYC and appointed Vieira two years ago after his glittering playing career that included winning the World Cup with France and titles with Arsenal.
The 41-year-old is among the contenders to replace Arsene Wenger when he leaves the Emirates at the end of the season.
He also played a part in City’s rise to the top after finishing his playing career at the Etihad.

In 2011 during his final season as a player, Roberto Mancini gave the floor to the France midfielder during the FA Cup semi-final.
His speech, telling City it was a chance to overtake Manchester United, has been credited as a turning point in City’s history after they went onto win 1-0 courtesy of Yaya Toure’s winner.

But despite being linked with the Gunners hot seat, Vieira has seemingly ruled himself out of the running.
Speaking to radio station WNYE, he claimed he was happy in America, he said: “I spent nine years at Arsenal which makes the club really special for me.
“But that is not enough to coach the team.
“I am always flattered to hear my name linked with different football clubs. That is good for your ego but at the same time, I am happy here.
“We will see what will happen in the next couple of years.”
