PAUL POGBA is NOT the best midfielder in the world – that award goes to Yaya Toure.
The lofty claim has been made by Toure’s controversial agent Dimitri Seluk following comments made by Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho.
In an interview with French TV station FVR this week, Mourinho was talking about the Ballon d’Or award, and how it is weighted towards strikers.

He went on to say how he believes £89million-man Pogba should be shortlisted in the years to come.
“At the moment, if you’re not a goal scorer, you cannot win the Ballon d’Or,” Mourinho said.

“But if the perception changes, then Paul can win it, because Paul is not a goal scorer.
“Paul is a midfielder who will score more and more goals, because I think he has good conditions to score goals. Paul is a midfielder, in my opinion, the best, the best in the world.
“Obviously, he’s young, he can still improve, he wants to improve, which is even better.”
But Seluk, whose past comments have seen Toure’s career at Manchester City come under serious threat, believes his man is top of the pile.

Speaking to Russian media, Seluk said: “I have great respect for Mourinho, but his eyes have dulled with time.
“Pogba is a good football player, but the best midfielder in the world is Yaya Toure.”
The Ivorian is now firmly back in the fold under Pep Guardiola at the Etihad, after a very public falling out.
It followed comments made by Seluk, where he said Guardiola was “humiliating” his player after leaving him out of squads earlier this season.
