PAUL POGBA has opened up about living in Manchester as a Muslim following the terror attack at an Ariana Grande concert.

In an exclusive interview with Esquire magazine, which is out today, the Frenchman spoke on a wide range of subjects.

And when asked about his faith, the midfielder emphasised the need for people to band together and fight evil.

Pogba, 24, said: “It’s a very difficult moment but you cannot give up. We can’t let them get in our heads – we have to fight for it.

“Sad things happen in life but you cannot stop living.

“You cannot kill a human being. To kill a human being… it’s something crazy, so I don’t want to put religion on it.

“This is not Islam and everybody knows that. I won’t be the only one saying that.”

Pogba visited holy city Mecca during Ramadan – ditching his usual flashy outfits for more modest attire.

Paul Pogba travels to Mecca to mark the start of Ramadan after Europa League victory

The Manchester United star took to his instagram and posted a boomerang of himself swishing round his luggage with the caption: “On my way to go say thank you for this season. See you soon Manchester! En route to my prayers.”

He then toured China as part of his commercial commitments before enjoying a break in LA with pal Romelu Lukaku.

Pogba struggled to justify his world-record fee at times last campaign but has been in top form for France this summer and will hope to carry it over.
