Manchester United and Man City ‘make £53m bids for Milan Skriniar’ but offers are rejected by Inter Milan

MANCHESTER UNITED and Man City have both seen bids of £53million for Milan Skriniar turned down by Inter Milan, according to reports.

The Slovakian, 23, was arguably the best central defender in Serie A along with Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly last season and has attracted interest from a host of top European clubs.

They will be hoping to take advantage of Inter’s financial situation, as Inter need to raise £35m to comply with Uefa’s FFP regulation.

However, Corriere dello Sport insist that, despite this burden the Nerazzurri have rejected an opening bid from both Manchester clubs.

Having returned to the Champions League for the first time in six years, Inter are determined to keep hold of their best players.

The club is known for being quite creative when it comes to raising the cash and last summer refused to allow Ivan Perisic to join United despite facing the same issue.

Inter have expensive options to sign Joao Cancelo and Rafinha on permanent deals after both impressed while on loan this season — however, they have yet to take these up due to their financial troubles.

Another superstar Inter are determined to keep hold of despite interest from elsewhere is striker Mauro Icardi.

The Argentine once again finished as top goal scorer in Serie A, and is thought to be a target for Chelsea, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

He has a £97m release clause, but his wife-agent Wanda Nara insisted on Twitter that he would be staying.
