A Fifa spokesperson said its Transfer Matching System – the online platform that monitors cross-border transfers – was looking at the switch.
A statement revealed: “We can confirm that Fifa TMS has been requesting information on this matter. We have no further comment at this stage.”

Pogba, 24, returned to Old Trafford last August from the Serie A giants in a blaze of publicity.
And French reports claim Fifa have been investigating the deal since September 16.
It is believed they are looking into allegations of third-party ownership, which is banned in England.
Fifa are likely to ask for for clarification over who was involved and which individuals were paid for their part.

Raiola refused to comment but United chiefs are understood to be relaxed about the investigation.
A club spokesman said: “We don’t comment on contracts. Fifa have had the documents since the transfer in August.”
And if the club is found to have provided inaccurate information in transfer papers, the most they or Juventus can be fined is a measly £11,750.

A larger fine could be implemented if third-party influence is found – with the case then likely to be refereed to Fifa’s Disciplinary Committee.
Fifa banned all third party ownership of players’ economic rights in 2015.
This year, Dutch club Twente were fined £135k and Sevilla £42k for breaching new rules.
