Blind, 28, has looked surplus to requirements under Jose Mourinho this season despite starting the first three Premier League games of the campaign.

The Dutch international went on to feature in just 17 games for United suggesting his time could be up at Old Trafford.

Gazzetta dello Sport say Inter will send scouts to Turin to run the rule over Blind who could play for his country against Italy on Monday.

Inter boss Luciano Spalletti has money to spend after qualifying for the Champions League and has already bagged Blind’s fellow countryman Stefan de Vrij.

He told De Telegraaf after the game: “United is a nice big club. Of course there is a lot of competition there. I am still under contract for another year.

“I certainly will not make a panic transfer because it is not guaranteed that I will play at a new club.

“We have to wait, but it seems logical that I wasn’t satisfied with the second half of the season.
“So first I’ll go on vacation and then put all the possibilities next to each other.”

Blind could follow Matteo Darmian out the door to Italy, the full-back is close to joining Serie A champions Juventus.
