MANCHESTER UNITED star David De Gea’s girlfriend has joined him between the sticks – having been left needing crutches following knee surgery.
Spanish singer Edurne Garcia, 32, shared pictures of herself in hospital with her left left leg completely wrapped in bandages with her nearly 900,000 followers on social media.
The stunning blonde did not reveal why she needed an operation but she did tell her fans that it had been planned for some time.
She said: “I start the year with an operation on my knee that was pending!!
“It has gone very well and will be like new!!
“Thank you all for the messages of love!”
Many of her fans commented on the photograph including netizen ‘sevillano12590’ who said: “Get well soon precious”, while ‘espadarosiQue’ added: “Recover soon and much encouragement”, and ‘el_yeikito’ added: “Best wishes and a kiss my beautiful queen.”
Edurne, who is also an actress and TV presenter, is about to feature on the jury of the new series of the Spain’s Got Talent reality TV talent show.

She rose to fame in late 2005 when she took part in the Spanish talent show, Operacion Triunfo, and she represented Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with the song ‘Amanecer’.
In 2015 Edurne famously described Manchester as “uglier than the back of a fridge”.

United are read to offer De Gea, 27, a new contract which will see him become the club’s highest paid player amid interest from Real Madrid.
The Spain stopper’s Old Trafford deal runs out in the summer or 2019 but a clause in it will allow United to extend for another 12 months.
Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho said: “It’s obvious that we are not going to let the option [to extend his deal] disappear.
“A goalkeeper like he is, at a club that wants to be better and better and better – we are not going to let that option go away. We are going to try.
“[Executive vice-chairman] Mr Woodward is not on holiday – he barely has holidays – and of course he is going to try to give him a contract that keeps him here for much more than the option that, of course, we are going to execute.”
