Manchester United starlet Dean Henderson eyed by Bristol City boss Lee Johnson in £1million deal


BRISTOL CITY want Manchester United keeper Dean Henderson — and are ready to offer £1million.

City manager Lee Johnson has cash to spend on a new No1 and made personal checks on Hendo during his loan at Shrewsbury this season.

Henderson is keen to move away from Old Trafford and could be swayed by the offer of Championship football with the Robins.

Johnson faces competition for Henderson’s signature but feels he can seal a deal after the Shrews’ League One play-off final with Rotherham on May 27.

The 21-year-old has starred at New Meadow this campaign, featuring 47 times in all competitions.

While he has also managed to keep an impressive 19 clean sheets, conceding on just 37 occasions and was named in the PFA League One Team of the Year.

His fine form earned him a call-up to the England Under-21 squad in March, where he featured in a 2-1 friendly win against Romania.

While he was also part of the Young Lions side than won the U20 World Cup last year.

He could join fellow Red Devils goalkeeper Sam Johnstone out the door in the summer, with Aston Villa and Cardiff both vying for his signature.

Henderson joined the United academy from Carlisle at the age of 14 in 2011, but is yet to make a senior appearance for the FA Cup runners-up.
