Manchester United to battle Real Madrid with ‘£200m plus bid for Neymar’ as Brazilian looks to leave PSG

MANCHESTER UNITED are ready to make a bid of over £200million for Neymar, according to reports.

The Brazilian, 26, only joined Paris Saint-Germain from Barcelona in a world-record £198m deal last summer.

Yet, he has regularly been linked with a move away from the Parc des Princes — with Real Madrid considered his most likely destination.

However, The Mirror report United would be willing to rival any bid made by Los Blancos, while also matching his £575,000-a-week wages.

The article claims Neymar’s father is a Red Devils supporter and would love to see his son turn out at Old Trafford one day.

PSG owner Nasser Al Khelaifi continues to affirm Neymar will not be leaving the club. His latest claims were: “He is staying 2,000 per cent. I am certain. He wants to stay.”

But there were similar declarations coming out of the Barcelona camp last summer.

Gerard Pique’s famous “Se queda” (he’s staying) tweet, in which he shared image of himself along with Neymar in a bid to appease fans, was not the only instance.

There was an almost identical quote from a Nou Camp director Jordi Mestre just two weeks before the Brazilian’s departure, which read : “Neymar is staying at Barcelona 200 per cent.”

Neymar has been out of action since the end of February following a broken metatarsal, but has added three more trophies to his cabinet as PSG completed another domestic Treble.
