DAVID DE GEA has revealed he is HAPPY at Manchester United to deal Real Madrid a huge blow in their quest to sign him.
The 27-year-old goalkeeper has been at Old Trafford since 2011, but has been linked away with a move back to La Liga with his contract due to expire in the summer of 2019.
Los Blancos failed to lure him to the Spanish capital on Deadline Day in 2015, and have never given up hope of landing the Red Devils ace.
In an interview with the Daily Star Sunday, De Gea shut down speculation that he is unhappy in England, insisting he is enjoying his football in Manchester.
He said: “Time flies by so quickly. I’ve been here seven years and I am happy.
“A lot has happened to me – some very good, some not so good, – but to be honest I am just really happy.
“I feel like an important player in the dressing room. I am one of the oldest in the team.
“It makes me happy to see the younger players coming through – and trying to make United big.”

While it has been reported that United will be willing to part ways with the Spaniard for a price of £115million.
But with a deal unlikely to materialise in the summer, Madrid look to have turned their attention to Chelsea star Thibaut Courtois, who are prepared to pay £100m to land a top goalie.
And speaking of rumours linking him with Madrid, De Gea added: “I don’t think it’s ever good to discuss the future or what may happen.
“Only the present, feeling well, playing well and helping United is important.”
