Marc Diakiese set to make his UFC debut against Reza Madadi at UFC 204

UFC 204 in Manchester has been bolstered by yet another addition of a rising British star.

Former BAMMA Lonsdale lightweight champion Marc Diakiese has been added to the fight card for the through-the-night event on October 8, which takes place at the Manchester Arena.

Diakiese will take on one of the most recognisable European lightweights on the UFC roster as he gears up to face Sweden’s Reza ‘Mad Dog’ Madadi on his Octagon debut.

Madadi claimed an important win for his UFC career last time out when he defeated Yan Cabral by third-round TKO at UFC Fight Night in Rotterdam.

And the experienced Swede will provide a stern test against rising British star Diakiese, who arrives in the UFC in the form of his career.

Diakiese has a perfect professional record standing at nine wins, no losses, with four of those wins coming by way of TKO/KO, but his growing penchant for the spectacular was there for all to see in his last two outings for BAMMA, where he scored huge one-punch KO victories.

'The Bonecrusher' starched Rick Selvarajah and Kane Mousah in a combined time of just one minute in his last two contests, catching the eye of UFC matchmakers Sean Shelby and Joe Silva, who signed the Brit to a multi-fight deal.

That deal kicks off in Manchester at UFC 204 and if Diakiese can add to his run of knockout victories with a stoppage of Madadi, people will get even more excited about the 23-year-old's prospects.
