And Select Group One refs have come under increasing criticism because of their poor performances.
Many officials have been guilty of key, arguably match-deciding errors and mistakes are made most weekends. Without Clattenburg, there is now a lack of quality refs in the top flight.
Clattenburg was viewed as the best ref in the Prem and that’s why he was awarded the Euro 2016, Champions League and FA Cup finals last term.
Below, I have rated the Premier League’s remaining 17 Select Group One referees and assess what has been left behind following Clattenburg’s departure.
