The Moroccan international appears to have given into ageing and shaved off his thinning barnet.

Back in 2010 when he signed for Arsenal, he arrived with a Ronaldo-like hairstyle, sharp and to the point.

Now, as he poses with the Cardiff shirt and looks forward to proving he can cut it in the Championship, Chamakh has a very different look.

On Twitter, one user seemed happy that Chamakh “has stopped trying to paste his hair over the gaps in his hairline,” while Lee Bowman queried “where it had gone”.

And Callum Watson even went so far as to doubt Cardiff had even signed Chamakh, such was the change in appearance.

Jack Baker was somewhat more cruel when he asked how “Chamakh managed to shave his head and still have absolutely terrible hair”, describing the 32 year old as a “performance artist”.
