MICHAEL OLIVER’S wife has suffered sick abuse following her husband’s performance in the Champions League quarter-final clash between Real Madrid and Juventus.
Vile Twitter trolls from Italy called Lucy – also a referee – a “filthy English slutty pig” in the wake of Michael’s controversial penalty shout.
Newcastle-born Lucy, 28, faced sexism and threats while her husband was accused of accepting bribes.
Ref Oliver, 33, awarded Real a last-minute penalty which Cristiano Ronaldo scored to send the Spanish club into the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Mehdi Benatia made contact with Lucaz Vazquez who went tumbling to the ground to win the spot-kick.
Gianluigi Buffon was sent off in the protests and later called the official a “murderer”, insisting he had a “trashcan for a heart”.
It was heartbreak for Juventus, who were agonisingly close to extra-time after remarkably scoring three times at the Bernabeu to overturn a first-leg defeat.
Sick fans, still furious with Oliver’s decision, have now targeted his wife on social media after finding a collection of pictures she posted of themselves on holiday in Madrid in 2016.
‘ROBBERY’ Real’s controversial last-gasp penalty against Juventus labelled ‘robbery’ in Italy while Catalan press call it ‘scandalous’
Lucy shared one snap of herself at the Bernabeu, captioned: “Not a bad stadium I guess…”
One user slammed: “Justice will be done when that pig of your husband loses his job, filthy English slutty pig and I wish that sooner or later God will make him pay [for] all this!”

Another wrote: “A woman referee?? Aahahha what is [this] a parallel universe?
“Good anti-Italian couple. Don’t dare come to Italy. Enjoy your Spain and Madrid. Criminals.”
One simply said: “You should be ashamed of your husband.”
Alongside a picture of Oliver’s face during Buffon’s rant, another wrote: “Just a man with the balls you chose. The f***ing face of someone who knows that he combined it dirty.”
While another Twitter user posted a picture of a pile of cash with the caption: “How much did your husband get to help Real Madrid win and throw out Juventus?
“Congrats… and SHAME. Money talks.”
Oliver was also called “MICHAEL GARBAGE BIN” by another disgruntled user.
Michael and Lucy married in a cosy ceremony in Darlington three years ago.
Juve defender Giorgio Chiellini appeared to suggest Oliver had been bought by Real.
TV replays caught the Italian seeming to make a money gesture towards Madrid’s players and saying: “You pay, you pay!”
Former Premier League referee Mark Halsey has leapt to Oliver’s defence.
The SunSport columnist said: “If you wanted one man in the middle when Medhi Benatia bundled Lucas Vazquez over in the last minute of Real Madrid and Juventus, it would have been Michael Oliver.
“He has confidence in himself and is not afraid to make a big decision, as he proved beyond doubt in Madrid.”
A retired dentist named Michael Oliver wrongly received a barrage of abuse from furious football fans.
The married dad-of-three said he was watching DIY SOS with his wife when he started receiving notifications on his phone from irate Italian fans.
His Twitter bio now reads: “Dear ITALY get off my case I ain’t no referee ….”
