MICHAEL SCHUMACHER is responding to treatment and will recover from life-threatening head injuries, according to a former Ferrari supremo.
Luca Cordero di Montezelmo contradicted recent reports that the condition of Germany’s seven-time Formula One world champion is getting worse.
The ex-chairman of Italian car giant Ferrari told Ecumenical News: “I’m very pleased to know that he is reacting.
“I know how strong he is. I’m sure that thanks to his determination, which will be crucial, he will come out from this very, very difficult situation.”
Schumacher, 47, was put in a medically-induced coma three years ago after two life-saving operations following a skiing accident in the French Alps.
The former Ferrari, Jordan, Benetton and Mercedes legend reportedly cried when hearing his son and daughter earlier this year and is thought to now recognise some faces.
He has been at his family home in Gland, Switzerland, since June 2015.
