Mountain Fiji dead at 60 as Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling star who inspired Netflix series passes away after years of health issues


MOUNTAIN FIJI – a star of the original Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling which inspired the Netflix series – has died aged 60.

The Samoan-American ace was one of the biggest attractions to the hit show back in the 1980s, and never lost a match.

Fiji – real name Emily Dole – was such a star it was an unusual event for her to even be knocked off her feet as she weighed 350lbs.

Not much is known around the circumstances of her death, but she had been battling serious health issues for a number of years.

She was so popular she inspired the character Machu Picchu on the G.L.O.W TV series aired on the streaming website.

Patricia Summerland, Fiji’s close pal, also known as Sunny the California Girl, said on Twitter: “Rip Emily Dole!

“We lost our GLOW sister this morning. We are very sad that she passed away.

“She was the champ in the ring. Fly high Mountain Fiji.”

Fiji also appeared on a Netflix documentary about Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling a number of years ago, according to the Pro Wrestling Sheet.
