While a 4-3 thriller between Nottingham Forest and Wigan was the pick of the Championship bunch.

Jermain Beckford’s first-half goal gave Preston hope of their first win of the season.

And a Nedum Onuoha own goal clinched all three points for the away side.

ROSS McCormack and Gary Gardner hit the woodwork for Villa before the interval as Derby endured their second successive goalless home draw.

The Rams improved after the break but both sides showed why they each have only five points from four games.
