New York City had hosted the draft from 1965 until it was moved to Chicago in 2015.

What is the NFL Draft?

The NFL Draft is an event similar to transfer deadline day in football in that people tune in from all over the world yet no actual sport takes place.

All 32 teams gather to select the best college football players in a pre-determined order.

The order of selection is usually decided by results from the previous season with the worst team receiving the first pick in each round, and the Super Bowl winners going last.

There are seven rounds in total and teams can trade picks as well. Often these trades will have involved existing players moving teams from earlier in the year.
