Nick Kyrgios’ Wimbledon tournament over as he is forced to retire after warming up in Tottenham top and dodgy leggings

TENNIS bad boy Nick Kyrgios warmed up for Wimbledon wearing a Tottenham shirt and some dodgy leggings.

But his pre-match gear did little to help as the Aussie went crashing out in the first round.

Kyrgios turned heads as he made his way to the court for his clash against Pierre-Hughes Herbert.

The ace donned a brand news Tottenham jersey, which was only released the other day.

But Kyrgios also showed off some rather naff skin-tight leggings which poked out under his shorts.

Either way, neither shirt nor trousers could have helped him as the star was forced to retire in the third set.

Kyrgios was two sets down at the time but called it a day when he couldn’t shake off the hip injury suffered at Queens a few weeks ago.

And the Court Three audience looked disappointed as he hobbled off Court Three, making him the first player to exit SW15.

Andy Murray will be hoping his hip problem doesn’t result in a similar fate when he takes to the court.

The Scot has been struggling to get fit for Wimbledon but is still expected to make a valiant defence of his title.

Brit tennis aces Andy Murray and Johanna Konta are as excited as fans as Wimbledon begins

Reflecting on his withdrawal, Kyrgios said: “I kind of knew I was in trouble. I have been feeling my hip ever since I fell over at Queen’s. I was doing everything I could to help it, but just not enough time.

“Some opponents if I played them today, I probably still could have won. He plays great grass court tennis, he serves well, so he’s going to do well.

“It’s my favourite tournament, I do well here every year. It’s tough for me to go out there and get beaten and pull out.

“I’ll probably get an MRI tomorrow, get an injection, do rehab and get healthy. My preparation wasn’t great, I knew I was hurting. I don’t think it’s career ending or anything like that. I’m obviously a little bit scared but I don’t think I need it (surgery) at the moment.”
