A FEMALE referee suspended a match in Spain after a spectator told her to “go wash the dishes.”
And Marta Galego insisted that abusive fan be ejected from the ground.
The incident happened in a lower division game between UE Valls and Cambrils Union.
Under the Catalan Football Federation’s initiative to have “zero insults in the stands,” Galego stopped the match and had the fan, identified as a UE Valls supporter, thrown out.
She pencilled the incident in on her note pad, surely with the intention of reporting the situation to the Federation.
After the sexist spectator was removed, the remaining fans showed their support for the decision and gave Galego and her fellow officials a standing ovation.
