Paris Saint-Germain flop Hatem Ben Arfa ‘wouldn’t be against’ a move to Leicester as he nears exit

LEICESTER have been given a major boost in their quest to sign Paris Saint-Germain flop Hatem Ben Arfa.

The French international is set to become a free agent in the summer, with his Les Parisiens nightmare poised to come to an end.

According to Le Parisien, the 31-year-old “wouldn’t be against” signing for the Foxes, which will see him link up once more with Claude Puel.

Ben Arfa flourished under the 56-year-old during the 2015/16 season at Nice, where his 18 goals earned him a dream move to PSG.

But his elation soon turned to despair as he has been frozen out of the squad by Unai Emery, and hasn’t featured for the first team in almost a year.

The report also states that former club Lyon are keeping tabs on his situation, while Marseille are also interested in his services.

They state that several MLS clubs are also attempting to lure the ex-Newcastle ace to America, but Ben Arfa still harbours hopes of playing in the Champions League.

Despite failing to hit the heights at PSG, the 15-cap French international has insisted he will always keep fond memories of the club during his two-season stint.

In an emotional Instagram message posted last week, he said: “Soon it is the end of my adventure at PSG.

“Despite the difficult times, I am happy to have worn this jersey.

“I will keep wonderful memories with my teammates and through this message I want to take the opportunity to thank the many supporters.

“I will always like this club.”
