Paul Gascoigne new low as he exposes himself in the street on the hunt for more booze

THERE were new fears for Paul Gascoigne last night after he accidentally exposed himself in the street.

The football icon — heading to buy booze in only a dressing gown — stumbled barefooted from his flat with a bent cigarette hanging from his lips.

Slurring his words, Gazza, 49, climbed into a taxi before returning with a bottle of gin, cigs and painkillers.

As he stepped out of the cab his gown fell open revealing he was naked underneath.

An onlooker said: “He stood there in the middle of the street where all the neighbours could see him.

“It was a sad final public indignity for Gazza. We are all worried for him.”

The ex-England, Newcastle and Spurs star had to ring neighbours’ bells to gain entry to his beachside flat as he had forgotten his key.

Last Wednesday he was helped into an ambulance in bare feet with a cut head. He was checked over before deciding he wanted to go in for treatment.

But he changed his mind after being driven off by cops and asked to be taken back home.

Gazza dropped a wad of cash as he got out of the van and an officer had to pick it up for him. Cops and an ambulance were called to his flat in Poole, Dorset, again on Thursday afternoon.

Two officers spent three hours inside and medics were also called.

Then on Friday a police van, cop car and an ambulance were called over further concerns for Gazza’s welfare.

Yet on Tuesday, The Sun told how the star was spotted looking happy while fishing with a mystery blonde.

Seen here playing for England in Euros in 1996, Gazza has always struggled with his alcoholism

Gazza has been in and out of rehab during his decade-long battle against alcoholism.

In 2013 he was flown to a clinic in Arizona, US, after videos showed him slurring at a charity event.

Despite pledging to kick booze has fallen off the wagon on several occasions.

In March we published a picture of his bruised face following a drunken fall.

He later admitted on ITV’s Good Morning Britain the photo made him realise how low he had sunk. In another relapse in May, a moronic fan bought Gazza gin after Tesco staff refused to serve him. He also had to call a locksmith as he was so drunk he could not get into his flat.

Gazza is due to stand trial in September accused of cracking a racist joke during his stage show.
