PHIL NEVILLE’S sister has come out in support of her brother after sexist tweets were revealed from his account.
The former Manchester United star has been forced to apologise after posts, which included one where he joked about having “battered” his wife, were leaked online.
Tracey Neville, who is the head coach of the England netball team, was quick to back her sibling after he was made the boss of the England women’s football team.
She tweeted: “I have the most caring, thoughtful and most generous brothers ever.
“Phil will dedicate everything to this role and I couldn’t be prouder .
“He has spent his life showing his support to me as a sister, athlete and coach.”

FA chief executive Martin Glenn said Neville’s tweets do not “meet the threshold for issuing a charge” and Neville said the messages do not reflect his “character or beliefs”.
Neville said: “Following comments made a number of years ago I would like to clarify that they were not and are not a true and genuine reflection of either my character or beliefs, and would like to apologise.
