Polish footballer Dominik Koszowski stabbed to death by rival-supporting hooligans on way home from night out


POLISH football club KS Katowice have announced that youth player Dominik Koszowski has died – after he was reportedly stabbed by hooligans.

The 19-year-old was on the way home from a night out when he was attacked at Katowice train station by thugs who followed a rival team.

He later died in hospital, with three men reportedly arrested by police who were able to study events on CCTV, according to reports.

It is believed that Koszowski had been out clubbing before making his way to the station to head home, only to be attacked by around a dozen men.

A club statement read: “Koszowski was coached in GKS Katowice’s youth teams for many years.

“He joined us as a 9-year-old. Throughout his adventure with the ball he was associated with GKS.

“On the pitch he was always brave, strong and determined. Every day he was smiling, cheerful and positive attitude to life.

“In June this year, gave up football due to injury.

“His family and all the friends we make sincere condolences.”
