THE opening month of the Premier League season produced a host of quality strikes, which have been whittled down to just six.

Philippe Coutinho (Arsenal 3-4 LIVERPOOL)

Coutinho curled a beautiful free-kick from all of 30 yards over the wall and into the top corner past Petr Cech to level against Arsenal just before half-time.

Sadio Mane (Arsenal 3-4 LIVERPOOL)

New signing Mane scored Liverpool's fourth in the rout after he ghosted past Calum Chambers before cutting inside and brilliantly picking out the top corner with a left-footed strike.

Etienne Capoue (WATFORD 1-2 Chelsea)

The Frenchman controlled the ball on his chest before unleashing a stunning left-foot volley to give Watford the lead against Chelsea.

Adama Diomande (HULL CITY 2-1 Leicester)

Diomande's spectacular overhead kick - with Abel Hernandez potentially also getting a touch - gave Hull the lead against the Premier League champions in what was the first goal of the whole season.

Sam Vokes (BURNLEY 2-0 Liverpool)

Vokes turned on the edge of the penalty area before picking out the corner of the net from 25 yards with an excellent right-footed finish to give new-boys Burnley the lead.

Cristhian Stuani (Sunderland 1-2 MIDDLESBROUGH)

The Uruguayan international carried the ball into the Sunderland half, before letting fly into the top corner of the scrambling Vito Mannone's goal from 25 yards in stunning style.
