Premier League fixtures released: Who to back in the opening weekend and latest betting offers

WE ARE just 58 days from the start of the Premier League season.

Which means it is definitely not too early to get your staking plan in shape with betting tips for the opening round of games on August 12. The fixtures have been announced and this is how we see the first weekend panning out.

Betting Offer: Man City to beat Brighton at 25/1

THIS is a great offer.

Sun Bets have priced up EVERY side at 25/1 to win their opening day game.

And we like the look of MAN CITY to beat Brighton.

The maximum stake is £1 and you are paid out in free bets but it is an excellent way to end up with some wagering money in your account for the new season.

It expires on midnight on June 14 though so be quick.

Arsenal v Leicester betting tips

ARSENAL have only won ONE of their last seven opening day fixtures.

But good news, Gooners. That is about to change.

Even if Leicester buy Lionel Messi this summer, they will not win on August 12.

Arsenal have won their last 10 home league games against Leicester, who are on a 21-game winless streak against the Gunners.

Case closed.

Brighton v Man City tips

A TOUGH start for the Seagulls.

Alexis Sanchez, Kyle Walker, Benajmin Mendy, Kylian Mpabbe. The list of Man City’s summer targets never ends.

But even if they do not spend a penny before August 12, they will beat Brighton.

Chris Hughton’s team should stay up but if it is Glenn Murray against Sergio Aguero, you know you are in trouble.

Aguero, incidentally, has scored five goals in the last six season openers. Rested.

PREDICTION: Man City win. Add it to your betslip here.

Manchester United v West Ham betting tips

NO TEAM has won more opening day games than Man United.

And guess what? No team has LOST more opening day games than West Ham.

It would take a brave punter to go against the tea leaves in this one.

PREDICTION: United win. Add it to your betslip here.

Newcastle v Spurs betting tips

IF TOON fans hate wearing their shirts in the middle of winter, think what it will be like at St James’ in the middle if August.

There will be more flesh on show than on Love Island.

The last time these two sides met, Newcastle won 5-1. And while that will not happen again this time, we expect Rafa Benitez to keep up his unbeaten record as Newcastle manager against Spurs (W5 D3 L0).

4️⃣Football Tips: Opening day four-fold4️⃣

THE rich get richer and the strong get stronger.

That is why we cannot look past the big boys on the opening day.

A four fold of MAN CITY to win at Brighton, LIVERPOOL to beat Watford, ARSENAL to thrash Leicester and MAN UNITED to beat West Ham pays out at a tempting 7/2 with Sun Bets.

Southampton v Swansea betting tips

IN A decade of Premier League football, Southampton have won just one opening day game.

That is hardly a surprise given their tradition of complete summer overhauls.

With boss Claude Puel expected to be moved on this will be another transitional period for the Saints.

PREDICTION: Swansea win. Add it to your betslip here.

Chelsea v Burnley betting tips

LEICESTER’S defeat against Hull last year was the first time a reigning champion had lost on the opening day.

Chelsea will not join them in the hall of shame.

Burnley have only scored once in the opening round and we like the Blues to win to nil.

PREDICTION: Chelsea win. Add it to your betslip here.

Crystal Palace v Huddersfield

HUDDERSFIELD are on a 22-game without a top-flight win that stretched back to November 1971.

And it is not about to end now.

Regardless of who ends up in charge of Palace, they should have enough to see off the Terriers.

Everton v Stoke betting tips

ROSS BARKLEY loves this time of year.

He has scored in each of Everton's last opening day games.

Unfortunately for the Toffees, their defence has not held up their end of the bargain and Everton's opening day form since 2013 reads: DDDD.

But we fancy them to see off Stoke, who are likely to have another summer of tweaks and changes.

PREDICTION: Everton win. Add it to your betslip here.

Watford v Liverpool betting tips

THEY may be background noise for most of the season, but Watford rarely do boring on the opening day.

Both teams have scored in every Premier League opening day game featuring the Hornets.

Emre Can scored his worldie the last time these two teams met, and while we cannot expect that again we do see both teams scoring.

Unfortunately for the hosts, that will also translate into a Liverpool win, even with home specialist Marco Silva now in charge.

PREDICTION: Liverpool win. Add it to your betslip here.

West Brom v Bournemouth betting tips

PERHAPS the least glamorous game of the opening weekend.

West Brom traditionally struggle in the big kick off but they should be able to get a draw against Bournemouth.
