RAFA BENITEZ is ready to walk out on Newcastle — even if he keeps them in the Premier League.
Current Spain coach Vicente Del Bosque has named the Toon boss as his top choice to take over after Euro 2016.
It would tempt Benitez more than the challenge of transforming Newcastle next season.
Del Bosque, 65, is also an admirer of Everton’s Roberto Martinez and Julen Lopetegui, who once spent two years in charge of Spain’s Under-21s but was fired by Porto in January.
Del Bosque will play a major role in his successor’s appointment. He said: “There are very good Spanish coaches. Benitez, Martinez, Lopetegui.
“Searching for a new coach is very easy.”
Benitez, 55, will certainly be available if Newcastle are relegated at the end of his short-term contract.
Toon lost 3-2 at Norwich on Saturday and two-goal ace Aleksandar Mitrovic said: “If we want to do well we can’t concede easy goals like Norwich.”
