Rafa Nadal wears a £720,000 Richard Mille watch in Australian Open quarter-final win over Milos Raonic

RAFA NADAL will pocket over £2.2million if he wins the Australian Open this weekend but that would only buy him THREE of the luxury watches he has been wearing DURING the matches Down Under.

The Spanish ace has played his way into a semi-final with Gregor Dimitrov with £720,000 worth of Richard Mille timepiece hanging from his wrist.

The RM 27-02 is specially designed for the 14 time Grand Slam champion who has a long-running relationship with the Swiss designer.

Since 2010, Mille has sponsored Nadal and made a handful of amazing watches.

Brazilian F1 driver Felipe Massa had three special-edition Tourbillon pieces and  Jenson Button, Fernando Alonso have also worn the exclusive brand.

And after the 2012 French Open Nadal allegedly had a £275,000 Mille masterpiece stolen that was only on loan from the expert maker.

Mille makes wrist bling for American golfer Bubba Watson, who won the 2012 Masters with one of his watches – with the brand getting plenty of attention as the cameras regularly zoomed in on the heavy-hitting star’s grip.

And decorated sprinter Yohan Blake wore a customised Tourbillon in Jamaica's national colours during the 2012 Olympics in London.

Hollywood stars from film and music also love Mille’s work, with Rocky hero Sylvester Stallone, kung-fu king Jackie Chan and singer Pharrell Williams all decorating their famous wrists with his creations.

Nadal reached his first Grand Slam semi-final since 2014 with a superb 6-4 7-6 (9-7) 6-4 victory over Canada's third seed.

Nadal, the 2009 Oz Open champion, faces 15th seed Dimitrov on Friday after the Bulgarian beat David Goffin.

After his latest win, the injury-battling star said: “I think I am not a very arrogant person so I always have doubts.

"Even when I was winning I had doubts and even more so when I had injuries. But doubts make you work harder.

"I have had a great career but I had some tough moments so that makes me enjoy moments like this even more."
