FORMER Swansea boss Michael Laudrup has reportedly held talks with Real Madrid to become their next manager.
The Galacticos were stunned yesterday when Zinedine Zidane announced he was quitting his job just five days after leading them to a third-successive Champions League crown.
SunSport understands Jurgen Klopp is the No1 target for the La Liga giants while Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is another contender.
But Laudrup, who spent two years as a player at Madrid between 1994-96, now appears to be among the frontrunners as well.
At least that is what the Danish legend’s agent Bayram Tutumlu claims.
He told Dutch news outlet Ekstra Bladet: “Last night nobody knew Zidane’s plans.
“That’s why it’s all new to everyone. But, of course, I’ve been in contact with people in the club, and Michael Laudrup is a candidate for the job.”
When quizzed himself on the prospect of returning to Madrid, Laudrup said: “There are already and there will probably be many names on the table at Real Madrid, it is possible that I am one of the many and it’s always good that I am mentioned in connection with a job.”
