Real Madrid’s trophy cabinet not big enough for 13th European Cup

REAL MADRID need a bigger trophy cabinet after running out of space for a 13th European Cup.

After the historic ‘decima’ win in Lisbon four years ago, Real extended their trophy cabinet by two more slots.

But, after clinching an incredible third title in a row, Los Blancos more space.

Marca report that fans will have to wait another week to see club president Florentino Perez place the trophy in its new home.

Gareth Bale netted a double that put Liverpool to the sword, having also scored against Atletico Madrid four years ago.

However, it remains to be seen whether Bale will be at the Bernabeu for a tilt at a fifth title in six years.

The Welshman, 28, is considering his future in the Spanish capital after being snubbed for a starting role in Kiev by Zinedine Zidane.

Manchester United appear favourites to land him.

To land bale in a five-year deal, a mind-boggling £349million deal would be needed.

Real would want close to £200m for a player but an offer closer to £180m could be enough.

Bale, 28, would not want to take a pay cut regardless of the breakdown of his relationship with Zidane.

An £85m arrival from Tottenham in 2013, Bale signed a new £650,000-a-week contract – before tax – in 2016. He is tied to Real until 2022.
