Real Madrid target Neymar ‘declares loyalty to PSG’ with tweet — but he did same with Barcelona before leaving

NEYMAR appeared to declared his loyalty for Paris Saint-Germain after tweeting a picture of himself in the club’s shirt for the 2018-19 season.

Buy, before fans of the Ligue 1 champions get too excited, he was also part of Barcelona‘s kit launch last summer, just weeks before leaving.

The world’s most-expensive player, 26, posted a picture of himself in PSG‘s new strip, along with a caption which read: “Proud to wear the new jersey and to continue giving you joy.”

It comes on the back of months of speculation he is set to leave the Parc des Princes after just 12 months and join Real Madrid.

While it appears to signify he would be wearing the strip next season, PSG fans should be wary about reading too much into it.

Last summer, Neymar was part of the Barcelona kit launch, but still forced through a move the French capital.

Why will PSG fail FFP — and what will happen?

FFP limits are evaluated every three years, with this summer bringing the close of the latest period.

That meant that Paris Saint-Germain had a year to make up the losses on the £198million they spent on Neymar, before facing scrutiny by Uefa.

A recent report suggested they have overestimated the amount various sponsorship deals will generate, though the club have denied this.

In 2014, PSG were found guilty of breaching FFP rules, but a “settlement agreement” meant they only faced a fine, spending restrictions and a limit on squad registration.

However, on this occasion, it is likely Barcelona will challenge any initial sanction they deem too soft, as they are still seething over last summer’s deal for Neymar.

That would see the case referred to the adjudicatory chamber, where the potential punishments could range from points deductions to being thrown out of the Champions League.

And, following Uefa president Aleksander Ceferin’s recent declarations that they will come down hard on clubs found guilty of breaching FFP rules, there will be pressure on him to throw the proverbial book at PSG.

The Brazilian has been out of action since breaking his metatarsal in March, but returned for the recent French Cup celebrations.

Though, it is unclear whether he will ever play for the club again, given Real Madrid’s interest.

Los Blancos president Florentino Perez is keen to add more stellar names to the squad, and Neymar is being targeted as the next big Galactico signing.

PSG are likely to be forced to sell a number of major assets as they aim to meet Uefa’s Financial Fair Play regulations.
