Rio Olympics 2016: Great Britain medals included in absurd EU table that puts Europe top

GREAT BRITAIN‘S mega Olympic medal haul have been absurdly been included in an EU table which puts them top of the charts – labelled as ‘the winning team’!

An EU-backed German company have put their resources to unsurprisingly dubious use by calculating where the European Union would figure in a list of COUNTRIES.

After months of attempting to cast shame upon our ‘Brexit‘ vote to leave the EU, we appear to be back in favour… now it suits.

Team GB currently sit second in the overall medal standings with a brilliant tally of  56 – including 22 golds and counting.

And those gleaming winners’ medals account for exactly a QUARTER of the 88 golds that its 25 member states have managed between them in their sham of a table.

After Germany’s footballing triumph in 2014, maybe we can claim to be world champions after all?

And with German and French rider bitterly sniping at our boys and girls over their cycling heroics, are they now pointing the finger of suspicion at themselves too?

Star cycling couple Laura Trott and Jason Kenny have won as many gold medals between them as Spain in Rio.

And their haul of five is three more than the whole of Belgium have managed between them!

Jade Jones was the latest Olympic hero to bag gold after she retained her taekwondo title.

The Welsh wonder’s success came just hours after the brilliant Brownlee brothers had completed their triathlon one-two, with Alistair getting over the line just ahead of Jonny.

And there is a chance of another gold gong tonight when the GB hockey girls face the Netherlands for the chance to become Olympic champions for the first time.
